Size does matter. How big is the Internet?

We all know that Internet is big. Some of us suspect that Internet is huge. But how it compares to common things that we use everyday?
It's really amazing. In just one day there are some 900.000 blog posts all over the world. If we took all these 900.000 and tried to publish them in NY Times we would have enough articles for this newspaper for about 19 years!
In just one day approximately 3.000.000 photos go online in Flickr enough to fill a 375.000 page photo album! Amazing isn't it?
In just one day there are some 700.000 new users in Facebook and some 45.000.000 status updates comparing to only 5.000.000 status updates in Twitter.
People are talking. People are having fun with social media and networks. People are communicating. Recently NY Times said that it will begin charging for access to their site by 2011. Is this the last stand for the old media trying to enforce their old business plan in the new era? Who would pay for something that it finds elsewhere for free?
With social media and social networks he or she won't have to go looking for the information. The information finds us, if it is important enough, and it's coming through the 900.000 daily blog posts, the 45.000.000 facebook status updates, the 5.000.000 twitter updates etc.
Internet is huge, and it's growing rapidly every moment. This time though it is not about new pages or sites as it was in the 90's. This time it is all about people!
